Bio

Keith Carter was born in 1978 in Tacoma, WA. He attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, receiving his BA in Fine Art. He later moved to Portland, OR to get his BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art, studying under illustrator Martin French. During the summer before his Senior year he participated in an internship at the Seattle design firm Ames Bros with Barry Ament and Coby Schultz. At the end of the summer he was offered a full time position which he gladly accepted, choosing to forgo his final year of school. During his two years at Ames Bros he worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from T-Shirts for their clothing line, logo and layout design, and poster design for high profile music festivals.

While at Ames Bros he worked on projects for clients that include: Pearl Jam, Bonnaroo Music Festival, Lollapalooza Music Festival, Outside Lands Music Festival, Vegoose Music Festival, Mtv, Wired Magazine, Linkin Park, Total Cereal, Harley Davidson, The Police, Billboard Magazine, Washington State Lottery, Museum of Sex – New York, Kompan Playground Equipment, ASCAP, Middle Class Rut and Raw Edge Clothing.

Keith has created many different T-Shirt designs for Ames Bros as well as a number of other companies. These shirts have been worn by people across the globe, and can be found at retail stores including Nordstrom, Anonymous Venice, Palmer Cash and Fuego. Recently, one of his shirts was worn by a character on the TV show LOST, as well as on the show The Big Bang Theory.

His freelance clients include: Threadless.com, Design By Humans, The Pickford Cinema, Campfire USA, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Tally Hall and University of Washington Medical Center.

Keith is available for commissions both large and small.
